*NOTE I'M USING WINDOWS 7, IF YOU ARE USING XP/VISTA THINGS MIGHT BE A LITTLE DIFFERENT, BUT I ASSURE YOU THEY ARE STILL THERE*
First step: Change the graphics options. This cuts down a TON of lag, and should always be done before playing any game. WARNING: Never take screenshots of your monitor when in this view. It will look like you are a no money having redneck, running Windows B.C 357.
First thing you do, go to start>search> type "Performance options" and this should come up:
As you can see, it clears up alot of bullshit you don't need to play games with! Which is really all we care about. Don't forget to go into Gaming-mode.. You can't just install it and it works. You have to open it up and select the big ass ******* "Switch to Gaming-mode" button. I'm sure you can do it!
Okay, so 1 more program to install but you will not regret it (Well, two, but one is optional)! CCleaner is a well known program that goes through and deletes a bunch of shit that slows down your computer.
Here you will also see a program called "Defraggler". This one is optional, and I only run it about once a month but everything helps, right?
Here is what CCleaner looks like:
Here is another simple and fast (also well known) way to increase speed for those who have never seen this before..
Press control+alt+delete, start task manager and look for the program you want to run with no lag. In this case, it's Talisman Online
So find client.exe, right click it, select "Change priority" and then select "High".
NOT REALTIME! Selecting Realtime will cause your computer to implode sending metal shards all over the place, probably killing your family along with yourself. No but really, it only makes things worse for me. So stick with high.
And that's it! I promise you will notice a huge increase in speed, and it might mean the difference between life and death when in a duel, pking or in a scenario!
I'll probably edit this later if I think of anything else to add, but for now that's my guide on how to reduce lag..
Which thing you refer to? he had recommend few program.
The iobit games booster is very good but for high performance computer using window 7 is not necessary for this game because this game itself don't require too much resource to run unlike some other game. It is very helpful for player who use an older/ low end computer.
What he had recommend is very basic but helpful only some player are just lazy to perform maintenance to thier computer beside playing game.
Hi all, well, as you can see I am new here. I just wanted to add, I am also a newbie in the world of multiplayer gaming. Just trying to gather as much information I can meanwhile to gear up better. Game lags is one such aspect of which I am hearing a lot. Be it the online communities or those I personally know playing such games.
Seriously, the guide here seems to be very organized but a tad difficult to remember, especially for someone who is new. Can you people refer me to a simpler guide available online? I have already Googled ad tried to find answers. But again, they are loaded with info to difficult for me to grasp.
Also, do let me know is it absoultely essential to get a dedicated game server for playing these games. My favorite is Minecraft now. And does these servers has any relation with game lags?
